Our volunteers and partners are the backbone of our programmes and initiatives, allowing us to connect resources to the needs in our community.
At the North West Volunteers’ Appreciation 2024, we recognised over 150 volunteers and partners for providing care and support to uplift the lives of our beneficiaries. From students and schools to individuals and organisations, these heroes selflessly dedicated their time to build a caring and healthy North West community.

Recipients of the North West WeCare Volunteer Award
Husband-and-wife couple Peter Tierney and Gurbir Kaur have been deeply involved with Boys’ Town as volunteers and fundraisers for almost 15 years. The self-employed couple began working directly with Boys Town Sanctuary Care when their own children left home for National Service and university. Since 2019, they have opened their home to numerous children in need, providing respite care often at a short notice. Caring for children from newborns up to pre-school age, they feel privileged to be in a position to help other families through difficult situations.
